Great prenatal education
Children and parents have a close relationship that is inspired by deep karma. During pregnancy, mother and child are truly connected by flesh and blood. This mother:
Xue Ting is a performer in a provincial folk orchestra. During her pregnancy, she received the education of her unborn baby and began to believe in Buddhism and observe the precepts. Listen to this mother talk about the magical telepathy between mother and son:
After getting married, in order to give birth to a healthy and smart child, I put a lot of effort into diet, nutrition, psychological adjustment, and physical exercise.
When I was reciting and upholding the Ksitigarbha Sutra, “If in the future life, in Jambudvipa, there will be Ksriyas, Brahmins, elders, lay people, all people, and people of the opposite sex. There will be a new child, either male or Women, within seven days, you should read and recite this incredible sutra as early as possible, and chant the name of the Bodhisattva thousands of times. If you give birth to a new son, male or female, you will be liberated, have peace and happiness, and have a long life. Growth.” This passage gave me great encouragement and confidence, and it also gave me valuable and specific guidance for raising a pure and pure child.
From the early days of my pregnancy, I began to read and recite the Ksitigarbha Sutra to my fetus. Due to her physical discomfort during pregnancy, she could only recite it devoutly during the ten fast days. When I think of a little life like dewdrops in the mother’s womb, hearing this immortal sutra of Buddha for the first time, and carrying out the greatest and miraculous prenatal education for the child, my heart is filled with indescribable happiness and joy. Pride – I pray that the great and compassionate Buddha and Bodhisattva will give me a good child that will come true.
Four months after I was pregnant, with the guidance of good teachers and the full support and care of my family, I became completely vegetarian. Not only did the vegetarian diet not make me malnourished or exhausted, but it made me look rosy, happy and energetic. At this time, I recited the Ksitigarbha Sutra for the fetus every day, working very diligently, and I firmly believed in what the Buddha said in the sutra. The loud chanting, accompanied by the fetus growing day by day, filled my heart with unprecedented joy and peace of mind, and I looked forward to the exciting moment when I met my child.
The stars are passing by, time flies by, and the hot summer is coming in a blink of an eye. But I am still not tired and study hard. Be pure of heart and have few desires, not hear evil sounds, not see evil deeds, be diligent and upright, maintain your mind, chant sutras for the fetus every day, and strive to be a qualified and good mother.
One day, after I finished reading “Ksitigarbha Sutra”, my throat was so dry that it hurt. I went to the refrigerator without hesitation and wanted to get a box of ice cream to comfort myself for my hard work. Just when I opened the refrigerator door, a sentence suddenly burst into my mind: “Mom, don’t eat ice cream, I will be very cold!”.
This sudden feeling made me overwhelmed and felt very strange. I thought, is this an illusion or my own psychological suggestion? However, this didn’t catch my attention. I thought, I’ll eat it later. After a short break, when I opened the refrigerator again, that incredible feeling appeared again: “Mom, don’t eat ice cream, I will be very cold!”.
This sentence burst into my mind strongly again, and this time it really caught my attention. I realized that the fetus in my belly was talking to me with heart, telling me – “his” feelings of pain and joy. This wonderful feeling made me realize that the fetus and I have a heart-to-heart connection and a heart-to-heart understanding. The Ksitigarbha Sutra has closely connected me with my child.
We understand each other’s thoughts and feelings, and we have formed a close relationship between mother and child for life! I have read and recited the Dharani Sutra of “Buddha Says Longevity, Destroying Sins and Protecting All Boys” with sincerity and respect. The Sutra says: “The Tathagata Universal Light speaks to you. When you are in the womb, you have a human form. In the two treasures of birth and ripeness, you are like a hell with two stones pressing down on you. If your mother eats hot food, it will be like a hot hell. If your mother eats cold food, it will be like a cold hell.” I am in pain all day long.” This passage was witnessed and interpreted through the telepathy of my children and me. It made me have mixed feelings and I will never forget it for a long time! Buddha is the true speaker, the true speaker! This coincides with the taboo against eating ice during pregnancy in Chinese medicine classics such as “A Thousand Gold Prescriptions”.
After that, for the sake of my fetus, no matter how hot the weather was, I never ate any cold food. Two weeks after the baby was born, I fed him Coptis chinensis according to my old habit, which caused the baby to have diarrhea. Looking at the thin and weak child, I was anxious and restless.
My face pressed against his pale cheek, so worried and confused. At this time, this sentence suddenly popped into my mind: “Mom, don’t eat eggs! Eating eggs is very bad for me!” I suddenly woke up and it was the baby who was reminding me. (In order to induce lactation, my confinement nanny would make fermented fermented eggs for me every day.) This time I started to try to talk to the baby, and asked in my heart: Baby, what can mommy do to make you feel better? The baby immediately answered me: Read me seven parts of the Ksitigarbha Sutra quickly and dedicate it to my grievances and creditors.
I didn’t hesitate and quickly finished reciting the seven volumes of Ksitigarbha Sutra. Then I said to the baby: Mommy has finished reading seven volumes for you, what else does mommy want to do?
The baby answered me: From now on, read “Ksitigarbha Sutra” to me every day. I asked again: How long will it last? The baby answered me: chant until I can chant sutras. I asked: How old were you when you could recite sutras? He answered me: seven years old. It dawned on me. From then on, he chanted sutras every day. On the second day of chanting, the baby’s diarrhea stopped.
When I write this, the baby is almost two months old. He is healthy, happy and easy to raise!
At the same time, in order to fulfill my promise to my child, I recite one Ksitigarbha Sutra for him every day. In 7 years, there will be a total of 2,555 sutras. My husband and I firmly believe that the baby uses this kind of karma to help us practice diligently. I know that this is something that our family must accomplish together. As our children grow up day by day, our karma is also improving day by day, and our good deeds and virtues are also increasing day by day. This is such joy and happiness for our entire family!
Tip: Reading and reciting Mahayana classics for the fetus is the best prenatal education. I have met many children born to mothers who read and recited Mahayana classics such as “Ksitigarbha Sutra” during pregnancy. They are really smart, healthy, happy and easy to raise. The person who narrated this article is a Shanghai mother. When her son was forty-five days old, I met three members of their family. I was an eyewitness and the content of the story is completely true and credible.
