A nest of mice causes headaches
My neighbor, Mr. Zhang, likes to practice Qigong and is willing to use Qigong to treat people’s illnesses. However, he cannot cure the dizziness that has been bothering him for three or four years, and drug treatment is not effective. In his own words, “I always feel dizzy, as if I had drunk two ounces of wine.”
By chance, he met the old monk Miaofa and begged the old monk to help him cure his illness.
Master smiled and said, “I don’t know how to use Qigong to cure diseases. There are always reasons why people get sick. I can tell you the reason for your dizziness. Whether the disease can be cured or not depends on you. This is also what Buddhism says: “Fate yourself.” The principle of establishment.
For example, you did something wrong because you didn’t understand it, causing trouble and pain to yourself and others. If you meet a good teacher and tell you the reasons for your troubles and pain, and you understand your mistakes and correct them, your troubles and pain will naturally disappear.
Therefore, Buddhism does not make people superstitious about Buddha, Bodhisattva or some eminent monk, but hopes that everyone can gain wisdom and change their own destiny. “
Old man Zhang nodded thoughtfully.
“Your dizziness is caused by the fact that you hurt a nest of rats three or four years ago. Is this true?”
“Yes, there is such a thing. Master, you are so amazing!” Old Uncle Zhang said without thinking, “One day three years ago, I found a nest of newborn mice in the hut where the sundries were stored. Six or seven. I was timid and didn’t know how to kill them, so I put them in a shoe box and shook them vigorously. After shaking them for a while, I thought they were dead, so I threw them down the garbage channel. This had something to do with my dizziness. ?」
“Yes. That nest of rats was not shaken to death, it was just knocked unconscious by you. If the cause is the effect, this is the reason why you are dizzy.”
Old man Zhang seemed to be saying to himself: “You are right, that’s when I started to feel dizzy. This is because the mouse is not dead. What if it is dead? Why don’t you ask me to pay for it with my life?”
“Yes, killing will shorten your lifespan, or you will encounter misfortune in this life. The reason why animals are killed is because they planted the cause of killing in their previous lives, and they have the consequences in this life. By killing them in this life, we owe a life debt. , such a cycle, with retribution of injustice and retribution, endless. Therefore, we ordinary people will “come and go” in the six paths, with no exit. Only by understanding the Buddha Dharma can we firmly believe in cause and effect, stop evil and do good, and escape from the sea of life and death. What, we will continue to do so in the future. Killing?”
Uncle Zhang was a little dazed when he heard the old monk asking, and he hurriedly replied: “I will never kill any living thing again from now on!” As soon as he finished speaking, he seemed to be stunned for a moment, and then said happily: “Master, my head suddenly woke up. Not dizzy at all!”
Everyone in the room laughed.
“However,” Mr. Zhang continued, “rats are pests that harm people’s property and even spread diseases. If everyone doesn’t kill them, will there be an overrun in the future?”
“Nature itself is a whole, ranging from the universe to the smallest dust, including all kinds of life forms, all have their own laws of operation and time of existence. People are born, old, sick and die, and things are formed and live in the void. Regardless of mountains, rivers, oceans , or flowers and dewdrops, as long as they are formed, they will be destroyed and destroyed. However, this kind of destruction, life and death has its own laws. If the laws of nature are ignored, arbitrary destruction will inevitably lead to unimaginable consequences. For example, we do it for some immediate Blindly blowing up mountains and extracting rocks will lead to landslides and the destruction of forest vegetation; large amounts of groundwater extraction will cause ground subsidence. Didn’t you see that due to large-scale deforestation and hunting of animals, many species have become extinct or on the verge of extinction? On the one hand, humans are desperately trying to protect them It is difficult for endangered animals to repair the fragile biological chain; on the one hand, rats and other pests that everyone wants to fight are rampant. Not only do they have extremely strong reproductive capabilities, but they are also resistant to antibiotics. In fact, rats have many natural enemies, such as snakes, owls, Weasels, etc. But these natural enemies are caught and eaten by us humans, or their skins are peeled off and made into various clothing. Therefore, so-called natural disasters are often caused by man-made disasters.”
The old monk Miaofa paused and said, “I’ll tell you a way to avoid the rat problem. You might as well give it a try.”
“First of all, you should understand that rats are also sentient animals that give birth to children. They also understand some human languages like cattle, horses and dogs. When you understand the principle of not killing, you can prepare some food for rats every day in places where they often hang out. Food such as leftover rice. And silently recite, “I didn’t understand Buddhism before and killed many mice. Now I understand the principle of not killing, and I will never kill again in the future. I will also recite sutras for the mice I killed and save them. I hope the mice will not Don’t waste anything in your house again.” As long as you do this sincerely, you will definitely see results. One day, the mice will even move away.”
What Master said was refreshing to me. Later, this method really worked well. Some people’s homes are infested with ants, and this method is also very effective.
Do not believe?
Then you give it a try!
