Although it was nighttime, the street lights were bright and the car was not going very fast, but for some reason Qian Kun’s vision began to blur. He felt that the windshield in front of him was covered with dust, and he could not see the isolation fence in front of him. As the speed of the car accelerated, the isolation iron fence was rolled up like a twist, making “click, click” sounds from time to time. Qian Kun stepped on the brakes desperately, only to find that the brakes had failed during the collision. At this time, my daughter Lingling, who was sitting in the back seat, also became nervous: “Stop, stop quickly, we are going to hit the car in front!”
Helplessly, the car no longer obeyed the command and dragged the iron railing of more than ten meters forward and rushed forward. At this moment, a truck appeared at the corner and was about to hit it. At this time, the car suddenly slowed down and missed the truck. Finally stopped. The thrilling scene in front of us quickly attracted onlookers on the roadside. At that time, it was already 9 o’clock in the evening, and everyone thought that the accident was caused by a drunk driver.
After the violent impact, Qian Kun’s car was completely deformed. An iron railing was inserted diagonally 10 centimeters outside of his right leg. Fortunately, his right leg was not injured. Except for some blood stains on the tip of his nose and some redness and swelling on his legs, Qian Kun I am not seriously injured, and my daughter only suffered a minor scratch.
After a while, a middle-aged woman stumbled across the road, with a panic expression on her beautiful face. “Mom, mom” Lingling waved and shouted loudly. Seeing that her father and daughter were safe, she finally felt relieved.
This middle-aged woman is a devout Buddhist disciple. She eats vegetarian food, chants Buddha’s name, and strictly observes the precepts. She is a role model for many lay people, and everyone respects her as Teacher Wang. Since Teacher Wang began to learn Buddhism, the family has undergone great changes. The willful and naughty daughter has begun to know how to honor her parents, eat vegetarian food, learn Buddhism, and develop a certain degree of wisdom. Her husband even supports her vegetarianism and freeing up animals. In less than four years of practicing Buddhism, we have become a Buddhist family that is envied by everyone.
So why did such a good Buddhist family suffer such unexpected disasters?
It all starts with an incident that happened a month ago: This morning, layman Wang went out to buy vegetables. When a familiar vegetable seller saw that he was an old customer, he kindly gave him some wide purple lentils to taste. Lentils are highly poisonous before they are cooked. Due to lack of experience, Practitioner Wang suffered from vomiting and diarrhea after eating undercooked lentils. Her originally healthy body suddenly became weak. Due to lack of Qi and blood, her old problem of low back pain recurred. After learning about these situations, as a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine, I rushed to Wang Jushi’s house to treat him. The treatment effect was obvious and the symptoms of low back pain were relieved.
It was already very late when I came out of her house. Out of good intentions, Lay Practitioner Wang asked her husband Qian Kun and their daughter to take me home. So, on the way back after driving me home, the above thrilling scene happened. That night, I didn’t sleep for a long time after hearing the news about the car accident… The next afternoon, with a hint of worry and guilt, I brought the prepared dinner to layman Wang’s house.
What surprised me was that after experiencing this disaster, the whole family of layman Wang was in a very good mood. Everyone was repenting for the murderous karma they had committed in the past, and was grateful for the Buddha’s blessing, which made the serious crimes easy to report and the whole family was safe. Practitioner Wang and his family knew very well that such painful consequences must be caused by unforgivable evil deeds in the past.
“The Mahatma Sutra” says: Even after a hundred kalpas, the work will not be destroyed, and when the cause and fate meet, the retribution will be returned to you. The Buddha declared to us the eternal truth of the universe. In this near-miss car accident, there was such a tragic cause and effect. Now I write this story of cause and effect to strengthen everyone: “Don’t do any evil. , the Taoist heart of doing good deeds.”
Looking back at the origin, it turns out that the seeds of this retribution had been sown as early as the Qing Dynasty.
In the mid-Qing Dynasty, layman Wang, Qian Kun and his daughter were three sworn brothers, as close as one family. At that time, all three of them were working for the imperial court, and they were upright and did not tolerate falsehoods. This offended some villains, who secretly colluded and used their power to get rid of these three thorns in their eyes several times, but failed.
Finally, in a major case of seeking power and usurping the throne, he deliberately framed the three of them, slandering them as accomplices and involved in the case. As a result, there was enough physical and personal evidence, and the court immediately issued an arrest warrant. At this time, the three people had learned the news and temporarily hid in the mountains in order to escape. However, those villains did not give up and jointly petitioned the court to punish all their relatives and friends who were close to them, including those who were killed and those who were injured. Hurt, people are panicked, and no one dares to help the three of them anymore.
The three brothers hiding in the uninhabited mountains did not know the truth. After hearing that their innocent relatives and friends had been implicated, they mistakenly thought that Mr. Zhang, who was handling the case, had deliberately framed them (in fact, Mr. Zhang was not a bad guy, he was forced to do so). After taking over the case (he was the one who sent someone to notify the three people to escape), he vowed to avenge those relatives and friends.
After discussion, the eldest brother (daughter Lingling) came up with a plan to deceive Mr. Zhang, who had always wanted to help them, into the woods outside the city. The second brother (Qian Kun) suddenly attacked him from behind and killed him cruelly, while the third brother (Qian Kun) suddenly attacked him from behind and killed him cruelly. Wang Jushi was responsible for looking out. I was one of their relatives at the time. I fled to the woods. When I saw what the three brothers were doing, I not only did not dissuade them, but also gave them the steamed buns in my hands to eat. After the three of them were full, So I burned the body, buried it, and fled. I also pretended not to know about it and went away to another country. From then on, Mr. Zhang disappeared from the world.
For this, I was rewarded. On the night of the meal delivery, at the door of the kitchen of Jushi Wang’s house, when I was holding a cup and preparing to add tea, my left foot suddenly slipped and I fell heavily to the ground. The glass in my hand was thrown on the tiles – there was a crisp sound, But it didn’t break. This makes everyone deeply feel that karma and retribution are real and true. Probably because we are all observing the precepts and learning Buddhism, heavy retribution has become light retribution. This is because of karma. If we don’t learn Buddhism, the retribution can be imagined, such is the cause, such is the effect.
After returning home, with deep repentance, I knelt down in front of the Buddha and recited the Ksitigarbha Sutra seven times for salvation. On the third day, after I finished reciting the prayer, I , suddenly a soft voice came to my ears: “I’m leaving.” I said to him: “May you take refuge in the Three Jewels and recite the Buddha’s name, change your evil ways to do good; be able to generate great Bodhicitta, benefit all living beings; be reborn in a good path and listen to the Buddha’s Dharma.” , practice well and reach the other side as soon as possible.”
Tip: From this case, we can see that everything we encounter in life is not accidental. They are all caused by the previous causes and the present results, but it is just because sentient beings are so ignorant and ignorant that they cannot see clearly. “Bodhisattvas fear causes, and sentient beings fear consequences.” In this case, when faced with ups and downs in life, in addition to accepting the present retribution calmly and striving to create good causes for the future – chanting Buddha’s name, practicing practice, correcting mistakes, repenting, and doing good deeds, there is also What is there to say?
