You can’t go to Buddhist country if you eat meat

There was a woman in her fifties who had meditated on Buddha for many years and suffered from diabetes. The old monk Miaofa told her that it was caused by too much killing karma. She said that she had been timid since she was a child and did not even dare to kill a bug. When Master asked her if she often went to the beach to eat live crabs, she was shocked and even said that such a thing had happened. Her daughter has been sent to Japan for several years, and every year she is taken to Japan to live for a month. Because she does not eat meat, her daughter drives her to a beachside restaurant to eat seafood twice a week, and tells the waiter to serve it The seafood on the table is steamed, not killed by yourself. The old monk Miaofa told her that these sea crabs were steamed to death by the chef because the diners wanted to eat them, and they were to be recorded on the diners’ “accounts”. He also told her that any animal she ate, even if it was dead when purchased, frozen, or already prepared, was considered killing karma. Because if there are fewer people to eat, there will naturally be fewer people to kill. After all, eating animal meat is creating killing karma.

Seeing that she still had doubts, the master gave further instructions:

Some people have killed many lives, and even engage in the work of killing, and they are still very healthy. And some people kill a certain kind of animal only once, or eat a certain kind of meat only once, and the disease comes to their doorstep. This is because the karma and blessings accumulated in each person’s past and present lives are different. For example, some people can drink a pound of liquor every day and drink it every day, and they will be fine in a short period of time. And some people can’t drink liquor or even beer, because they will get drunk if they drink it. This is because everyone’s drinking capacity is different, but a bad habit will only cause harm to people sooner or later. For the sake of greed, animals are hunted and killed arbitrarily, using all kinds of methods. Such bloody “deliciousness” certainly satisfies the appetite, but it also lays the foundation for resentment. “Diseases enter from the mouth”!

Old monk Miaofa asked again: “Do you have an antique copper incense burner at home?”

“Yes, yes.” She looked surprised and stared at the master.

“Where did you put it?”

“It seems to be on the balcony.”

“Go back and quickly find it and clean it up. All offerings should be properly disposed of if not in use. Either keep them or pass them on to others. It is disrespectful to just leave them lying around. If you can understand the two things I have told you above, If you confess your mistake, your illness will gradually get better. If you want to truly recover, you can only give up meat and eat vegetarian food. If you eat the meat of living beings and recite the Buddha’s name, your greed will continue and your anger will continue. The Buddha’s name will not correspond to your heart. You will continue to recite it for a hundred years. You can’t go to the Paradise either.”
