How to pray to Guanyin Bodhisattva? When many people worship Bodhisattva, they only focus on saying what they want, such as ” Bodhisattva blesses me with wealth, Bodhisattva blesses me with longevity, Bodhisattva blesses me with family harmony, etc. This is against the law. Let us remember these three points.
First, praise the name of Bodhisattva
When worshipping Guanyin Bodhisattva, we must first praise the holy name of Guanyin Bodhisattva, “Namo the Great Merciful and Great Compassionate Guanyin Bodhisattva.” Whether we are burning incense, worshiping Buddha, or making circumambulations, we must recite the name of Guanyin Bodhisattva in our hearts or out loud. You can recite it, or silently recite it in your heart, so that you can interact with Guanyin Bodhisattva and she will also know what you desire. Chanting has numerous benefits. In the Lotus Sutra, the Buddha told the Bodhisattva Inexhaustible Intent:
“If someone accepts and upholds the name of the Bodhisattva Sixty-two Billion Ganges Sands, continues to offer food, drink, clothing, bedding, and medicine, and even worships and makes offerings to him for a while, the blessings of the two people are the same. It ‘s like a hundred billion kalpas, inexhaustible.” From this perspective, reciting the names of other Bodhisattvas is not as good as Guanyin Bodhisattva.
Secondly, practice reciting the six-character Great Ming Mantra frequently.
When it comes to the six-character Great Ming Mantra, many people may not be aware that these six words “Om Ma ni Ba me Hum” have countless benefits. The Treasure Box Sutra states: “If you recite the six-syllable Great Ming Mantra, you will attain immeasurable merit. As many as the sand in the Ganges River will come in person, Bodhisattvas as many as the dust particles will also come in person, and celestial dragons and doves will appear. The four heavenly kings and others will personally come and protect you,
Third, have faith in Guanyin Bodhisattva
Whether you recite the name of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva or the mantra of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, if you want to receive blessings and protection and have your wishes come true, you must have faith. Only faith can enter the ocean of Buddhism. If you lack confidence, no amount of memorization will make a difference. It’s not that the Bodhisattva doesn’t bless you, but because you lack confidence and can’t receive the Bodhisattva’s blessings. It’s like living in my own house. No matter how warm the sun is outside, it can’t reach him. Therefore, we must have strong faith in Bodhisattvas.
Do we pray to Guanyin Bodhisattva? We must remember to praise the name of Bodhisattva, recite the six-syllable Great Ming Mantra frequently, and have faith in Guanyin Bodhisattva. Keep these three points in mind, and Guanyin Bodhisattva will definitely fulfill our requests.
