What is the relationship between ghosts, gods and humans?
There are many people in our world who do not know the existence of the six paths of reincarnation and the law of cause and effect. They do not believe in the existence of ghosts and gods in the world, nor do they believe in the existence of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. They do not believe in the natural law that good and evil will eventually have their consequences. This is because ordinary people do not have the Although the Buddha’s supernatural wisdom has physical eyes but is blind to the truth of the world, we can only get a glimpse of it through the scriptures left by the Buddha who attained the ultimate and perfect wisdom. Here, we introduce to the public a relevant teaching about ghosts and gods by the Buddha in the Chang Agama Sutra. After reading it, you will understand the various situations in which ghosts and gods are abundant in the world we live in, and you will also know why evil people, Good people will have different situations:
The Buddha’s teachings in the Chang Agama Sutra
The Buddha told the bhikkhu: There are ghosts and gods in all people’s homes and houses, and none of them are empty. In all the streets and alleys, in the butcher’s market, and in the hills and tombs, there are ghosts and gods, and none of them are empty. All ghosts and gods are everywhere. . That is to say, it is named after a famous person, a village is named after a village, a city is named after a city, a country is named after a country, a soil is named after a land, a mountain is named after a mountain, and a river is named after a river.
The Buddha told the bhikkhu: All trees, even those as small as a cart axle, are supported by ghosts and gods, and none are empty. All men and women are accompanied and supported by ghosts and gods when they are first born. If when he dies, the guardian ghost captures his essence, he will die.
The Buddha told the bhikkhu: A heretic Brahma asked: “Sages! If all men and women are accompanied and protected by ghosts and gods when they are first born, and when they are about to die, the guardian ghosts and gods will capture their essence, and they will die. Now, Why are there some people who are touched by ghosts and gods, and some who are not touched by ghosts and gods?” If you ask this question, you should answer the question: “The people of the world do illegal things, have wrong views, and commit the ten evil deeds. Such people, If there are a hundred or a thousand, there may even be one god who protects the ears. For example, if there are a hundred or a thousand cattle or a herd of sheep, and one person is keeping the herd, the same is true for him. If he acts unlawfully, has wrong views, and commits the ten evil deeds, such a human being, if there are a hundred or a thousand, , but there is a god who protects the ears. If someone practices good Dharma, sees righteous faith and conducts, and has ten good deeds, then one person will be protected by hundreds and thousands of gods. For example, a king or his ministers will have hundreds of thousands of people protecting one person, and the same is true for him. If he practices good Dharma, With ten good deeds, a person is protected by hundreds of gods. For this reason, some people in the world are touched by ghosts and gods, and some are not touched by ghosts and gods.”
This teaching of the Buddha thoroughly explains the relationship between ghosts and gods and the mountains, rivers, land, flowers, trees and human beings in nature. It also explains why evil people are often disturbed by ghosts and gods, while good people are often supported by ghosts and gods and are not harmed by ghosts and gods. The reason is that the various examples of cause and effect we have experienced in the “Record of Modern Cause and Effect” series also confirm these truths said by the Buddha. In the “Record of Modern Cause and Effect” 1, examples such as “The Righteous Deed of the Rubber Tree” and “The Young Master in Green Shirt” are attached to The various images of spiritual consciousness that appear on the flowers, plants and trees are exactly the ghosts and gods named after the plants and trees mentioned by the Buddha here. Now that we know these truths, even ghosts and gods know and see everything we do, let alone Buddhas and Bodhisattvas with great wisdom. How can people in the world not just walk on thin ice and follow the teachings?
